Croatia in general

The Republic of Croatia is bordered by Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. Along the Adriatic Sea Croatian neighbour is Italy. There are more than 1000 islands along the Croatian seashore. It is the most beautiful seaside in the world.
Zagreb is Croatia’s capital city. Its seaports are Dubrovnik, Ploce, Pula, Rijeka, Sibenik, Split and Zadar. The Croatian landscape includes mountains and highlands, areas of karst (limestone), plains, rugged coastline and islands. If you travel from east to south Croatia you will experience at least 3 seasons.
The main rivers are the Sava, Drava and Danube. My hometown Osijek lies on river Drava
Croatia has hot summers and cold winters. In winter it is milder along the Adriatic coast, particularly on the island of Hvar, known for its good weather.
Spoken language is Croatian with three dialects: štokavian, kajkavian and čakavian. Štokavian is official.
Croatian money is kuna, and coins are called lipe.
